The leading idea behind the program is that work proceeds in a chronological order. Thus, one starts with yearly planning, and then adds more detailed information during scheduling for shorter time periods.

The details that are scheduled include: Flight sessions, simulator sessions, training syllabi, altitudes, areas, aircrafts, supervisor of flights, scheduled meetings, vacations, etc.

After a flight session is completed, it’s evaluated and complied e.g. flight time, results and flight time budget. This information then serves as the basis for the whole follow-up system, and offers the possibility of generating graphs representing budget outcomes, flying times for individual aircrafts, pilots or for a group of pilots over a specified time period.

Each activity can have a number of resources connected to it. Each connection plays a certain role in the activity. For example, a member of the staff can be connected to a Flight Session either as a pilot, a passenger/instructor, mechanic or technician.

The connections are shown in the Detail-Planning page as ‘bars’. Each type of connection has its own unique colour. Several ‘bars’ can be connected to the same underlying activity and they will then have the same start and finishing times.
